A SPIRIT OF FEAR ATTACKING BELIEVERS

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

Believers : recognize a spirit of fear !
Just as we have stated in the title of this section, the spirit of fear is one of the enemy’s most effective weapon, which he often uses against believers. However, this spirit does not come alone to attack since it is helped by other spirits that will render its victim totally powerless under the attack. This spirit comes with a controlling spirit, a spirit of confusion, a lying spirit, and a spirit of visions that gets you to see things in your imagination that do not exist.

Let’s take one of these at a time to see how the enemy uses them to empower the spirit of fear :

A controlling spirit — When humans fear danger, they usually freeze, and it is not different with believers. Once we receive the spirit of fear from the enemy, then a controlling spirit moves in to make the person powerless and unable to react by controlling their mind.
A spirit of confusion — Once the mind is controlled, this spirit of the enemy does not permit the person to think clearly, instead all kinds of confusing thoughts come into the person’s mind setting up the stage for the next spirit to bring its venom.
A lying spirit — The mind of the person is now totally powerless to think clearly and open for the lying spirit to begin planting lies in their mind, which the person believes because of the next spirit, the master of deceit.
A spirit of visions and imagination: The seeds of lies that the lying spirit has planted in the mind of the person begin to spring forth with all kinds of visions and imaginations. The person’s mind begins to see negative scenarios that the enemy paints for the person to see in their imagination and it is all believed as real.
The End — After all the above are completed, the devil moves in and the believer is left powerless to fight or react against the enemy’s attacks. If the believer is serving the Lord in any kind of ministry, the enemy will see that all be destroyed. Like Jesus said: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV

Believers: the victory is available !

Jesus taught His disciples to pray in the Lord’s Prayer for the victory that is available for all God’s children:

“And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.” Matt. 6:13 NKJV

Paul gives Timothy a statement with great power since the enemy brings a spirit of fear, the Almighty God gives us the weapons to fight the enemy and be victorious:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

POWER :
The Word of God says that when the enemy comes like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against it. (Isaiah 59:19) The power of the Holy Spirit that is available to every believer will stop the enemy’s many spirits coming against us. He will come to help and warn us of attacks; He will give us counsel, and He will show us the truth.
Jesus told His disciples: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17 NKJV

LOVE :
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
There is no fear in love;
But perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.
But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:16-19 NKJV

SOUND MIND :
Believers have the mind of Christ and our minds are being renewed so that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

So that we may prove
What is the good and acceptable will of God.

When the enemy brings all those spirits to attack and he brings fear, confusion, and lies, the believer has to stop and prove : “This is not from God, this from the enemy!”
Are you fearful, confused, under a spirit of control? THEN, it is at that moment that you must ask the Holy Spirit to come and HELP you and HE will raise that standard to defend you — His power will be available!
Then, as we are in God’s love, we turn to Him and ask: “What is your good and acceptable will for this situation? And because God is the perfect love, He will cast out fear and you will be free from the enemy and the spirits’ attacks."
You will have the POWER; you will have the perfect LOVE; you will have your mind renewed with the MIND of Christ; and you will have the Spirit of the Lord ready to raise a standard against the enemy—You will have the VICTORY!
