JESUS HAS ALREADY GIVEN CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS THE EQUIPMENT AND COVERING FOR SPIRITUAL CONFRONTATION

Paul encourages believers preparing for the battle against the Satan: Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [Ephesians 6:10-13]

ZACHARIAH 3:1-4 — The spiritual war against Satan is also found in the Old Testament:

• Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan!
  Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”

JESUS HAS DRESSED THE BELIEVERS WITH HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HE HAS EQUIPPED US WITH HIS ARMOR FOR THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE AGAINST SATAN:

• Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:14-17

The helmet of salvation: protects and identifies

Breastplate of righteousness: covers and protects your heart from attacks-It is His righteousness

Belt of truth: He gives you his Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, who guides you into all truth and He shows you the lies of the enemy.

New shoes: For you to take the gospel of salvation to others who are in the same position you were with filthy clothes of your sins.

BUT THIS IS NOT ALL HE HAS GIVEN YOU, AS A BELIEVER. JESUS CHRIST HAS GIVEN YOU HIS AUTHORITY, HIS POWER, HIS ANGELIC HOST, THE SHIELD OF FAITH, AND THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, HIS WORD, TO EQUIP YOU FOR THE BATTLE.
