JESUS CHRIST IS THE MESSIAH, THE SAVIOR, AND THE SOON COMING KING OF THE WORLD
The Gospel of John Chapter 4
The Father Proclaims That Jesus Is His Son :
The voice of the Father is heard speaking to the Son: “
Father, glorify Your name.
” Then a voice came from heaven,
saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
John 12:28 NKJV
When Jesus
came
out of the waters of baptism, a voice was heard from heaven: And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “
This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
” Mat. 3:17 NKJV
When John, James, and Peter were witnesses of Christ’s transfiguration, they heard a voice from heaven confirming that Jesus is the Son of God: While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “
This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!
” Matthew 17:5 NKJV
Jesus Testifies That He Is The Son Of God, The Messiah :
Encounter With The Woman At The Well — She Believes Jesus’ Words : John 4:1-42
Jesus stops to talk to a Samaritan woman and asks her for water. She is surprised.
He offers her better water —
living water.
Whoever drinks of that water will never thirst again.
She asks for that water, but Jesus tells her to bring the husband and finally reveals her past.
She is surprised and asks if He was the Messiah. Jesus reveals that yes, He is the Messiah.
She runs to tell the people in her town about meeting the Messiah and they all come to see Jesus.
Later they confessed that they also believe that Jesus is the Messiah because of Jesus’ words.
These Samaritans believed Jesus and were saved: Jesus said, “
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
John 5:24 NKJV
Encounter With Religious Leaders — They Don’t Believe Jesus’ Words : Matthew 26:59-66
The night when Jesus is apprehended, He is brought to the High Priest’s house to be interrogated.
He demands that Jesus answer the accusations, but Jesus keeps silent.
Finally the High Priest demands a clear answer from Jesus: “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”
Jesus answers: “
It is as
you said.
Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Their answer: “Look, now you have heard His blasphemy! What do you think?” They answered and said, “He is deserving of death.”
It is sad to see how these people hardened their hearts and refused to accept the truth Jesus was revealing to them that yes, He was the Son of God and their Messiah: Jesus said, “
He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
” John 12:48 NKJV
The Holy Spirit Confirms In His Word That Jesus Is The Son By The Works And The Miracles He Did — From The Gospel Of John :
John the Baptist testified what he saw when Jesus came out of the waters of baptism — 1:29-34
The disciples witnessed in the wedding in Cana that Jesus changed water into wine — 2:1-11
Jesus healed the son of a royal nobleman and he and his house all believed — 4:46-54
Jesus healed the crippled man at the pool of Bethesda and the Jews persecuted Him for that — 5:5-18
Jesus fed a multitude of over five thousand men and their families in a miraculous way. When they saw the miracle, the people wanted to make Him king (but it was not the time yet) — 6:1-15
Jesus healed a man who had been blind from birth and he believed that Jesus is the Son of God — 9:1-41
Jesus raised Lazarus, Martha and Mary’s brother, from the dead and many Jews believed — 11:38-44
When Jesus resurrected, His disciples were witnesses to His resurrection and they believed — 20:11-29
The Testimonies Of Old Testament Prophets Confirm That Jesus Is The Messiah :
PROPHET MICAH :
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though
you are little among the thousands of Judah,
yet
out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth
are
from of old, from everlasting.” Micah 5:2 NKJV
CONFIRMATION :
Jesus was born in Bethlehem and it was confirmed by the wise men from the East who came following a star that announced the birth of a King —
the One to be Ruler of Israel.
The star stopped over Bethlehem (Matthew 2:1-12)]
PROPHET DANIEL :
“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks…And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.” Daniel 9:25-26 NKJV
CONFIRMATION :
In the year 457 BC, King Artaxerxes issued a decreed given to Ezra the priest that whoever wanted to go with him to Jerusalem to restore the city could go. At the end of the 69 weeks/years (69 X 7=483 years) Jesus Messiah was crucified in Jerusalem. Forty years later in AD 70, the Romans sent an army led by General Titus who later became the leader of the Roman Empire and they destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the temple, thus fulfilling this prophecy completely.
KING DAVID :
“I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to Me,‘You
are
My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give
You
the nations
for
Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth
for
Your possession.” Psalm 2:7-8 NKJV
CONFIRMATION :
There is not one person on this planet Earth whom God has ever called My Son whom He has begotten, except Jesus Christ. During His time here on earth, the voice of God was heard 3 times by different people regarding Jesus as His Son (Matthew 3:17; Matthew 17:5; John 12:28-30)
CONFIRMATION :
At the time of Christ’s Second Coming, the Lord will come and destroy the kingdom of darkness of Satan. He will then establish His Kingdom here on earth and at that time Jesus’ Kingdom will extend over all the earth and all the nations will serve the King, as God promised His Son.
PROPHET ISAIAH :
“He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put
Him
to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin.” Isaiah 53:7-10 NKJV
CONFIRMATION :
Isaiah finally describes the suffering of the Messiah, which Jesus endured on the cross. And Isaiah also reveals why the Father permitted the Son to go through such horrible death —
He was offered for the sin of the people, not only the Jewish people, but the whole world.
