The Kingdom of God
Lesson #6 & Video #6
Rebellion in the Garden of Eden
The Rebellion — Genesis 3
Adam was made a material being and a spiritual being. Before the rebellion he was caught up within the being of God
for his source of life
— Genesis 1:27
God gave Adam one commandment, and God warned Adam that if he violated that commandment,
he would surely die
— Genesis 2:16-17
Satan was in the Garden at the same time that Adam and Eve were there, and he was able to pass his
seed of rebellion and sin
to the human race — Genesis 3:1-7
Speaks to Eve and deceives her — she believes the deceiver and follows his lies — Genesis 3:1-5
The moment of separation from their life source occurred when Adam and Eve rebelled and committed a transgression against God’s commandment — when the seed of sin and rebellion from Satan entered their being, death came into their being because sin separated them from
their life source — God.
Adam and Eve lived many more years, but they were spiritually dead. — Genesis 3:6-13
The First Prophecy of the Bible — the Coming Redeemer:
At the time of rebellion in the Garden, the Almighty God cursed Satan for his action.
God gave the
first prophecy of the Bible
to the serpent/Satan:
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her SEED: He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise His heal.”
Genesis 3:15 (NKJV)
The “SEED” of the woman will destroy Satan’s seed of rebellion and sin and his head of authority over his Kingdom of Darkness. The SEED of the woman is the Promised Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
The first part of this prophecy was fulfilled at the cross when Jesus took Satan’s power to keep humans slave to sin (Isaiah 53:10-12; John 8:34,36; Romans 8:2).
The second part will occur at the Second Coming of Christ when Jesus finally crushes Satan’s head of authority over his kingdom of darkness (Revelation 19:11-21).
Jesus Christ has also given humanity the opportunity to receive the spiritual life that was lost in the Garden, as He came to give us eternal life — John 3:16; John 6:40; John 10:27-28
The “ seed ” of Satan in Adam and Eve and the Curse :
(Genesis 3)
Eve was deceived and Adam followed her. They took Satan’s seed of rebellion and sin.
This seed of sin and rebellion was passed to next generations of humans.
Adam and Eve experienced spiritual death when they separated from God because of rebellion and sin, as the Sovereign God had warned them (Genesis 2:16-17).
Spiritual death was passed to next generations of humans.
Adam and Eve were cursed and expelled from the Garden of Eden. They passed the curse also to next generations of humans (Genesis 3:16-19).
They were prevented from eating of the Tree of Life so they would not receive eternal life in sin (Genesis 3:22-24).
The seed of Satan in the human race :
At the time of Noah
The heart of man and the peoples of the Earth — great wickedness. Genesis 6:3, 5-7, 11-12
The Sovereign God makes a decision to destroy all living things, including humans — Genesis 6:8, 13
God’s plan to save His creation — Genesis 6:14-22
The Tower of Babel Conspiracy
Nimrod and his kingdom — Genesis 10:8-20
The decision that was made in the land of Sinar — Genesis 11:2-4
God reacts to their plan — Genesis 11:5-9
Area became Cradle of Civilization and the cradle of many demonic evil religions.
God ordered the Israelites to completely destroy all the Canaanite tribes, which had descended from Nimrod’s families — Deut. 7:1-6; Genesis 10:9-18.
