BEFORE OUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN AND SET FREE FROM THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS, WE MUST TRULY REPENT OF SIN

Question: Is Repentance Needed In Order To Be Born Again And To Enter The Kingdom Of God ?

THIS IS WHAT JESUS TOLD PAUL WHEN HE APPEARED TO HIM ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS : “I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” Acts 26:17-18
    2. JESUS’ FIRST WORD WHEN HE BEGAN HIS MINISTRY: Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Mat. 4:17
    3. JESUS EXPLAINED WHY HE CAME TO EARTH: “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Luke 5:32
    4. JESUS’ LAST WORDS TO HIS DISCIPLES BEFORE GOING BACK TO HEAVEN: “Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Luke 24:46-47

    1. PETER’S SECOND SERMON:Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19
    2. PETER TELLING ABOUT CHRIST’S SECOND COMING: “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
    3. PAUL: Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4
    4. THE AUTHOR OF HEBREWS: Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.” Hebrews 6:1
