THE SPIRIT OF FEAR
The Spirit of Fear :
God has not given us a
spirit of fear,
but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7)
Paul identifies fear as a spirit from the enemy.
Paul shows that we do not need to be captives of this spirit.
A lying spirit comes to speaks lies to us about situations that we might be going through: family problems; health problems; economic problems.
Then we fall under the control of the spirit of fear, which also distorts reality.
The spirit can be successful when we are weak in the Word of God not knowing who we are in Christ and what we have already received as children of God; we do not know the promises of God for those who are in Christ — then we fall under its control.
That is why Paul declares that we have received power, love, and a sound mind.
We must confront the enemy, his lies, and his spirit of fear with the truth of what the Word of God declares.
