THE SPIRIT OF GREED AND MONEY
The Spirit Of Greed :
The Lord warned:
“You cannot serve God and money.” Matt. 6:19, 24
The rich young man:
Matt. 19:16-24
Followed all that was in the law.
But was controlled by a spirit of greed.
He could not give up his money.
Gave up the privilege of following Jesus, for his money.
The man who built a bigger barn:
Luke 12:16-21
Was consumed by a spirit of greed.
Was never satisfied; never happy.
Then death came and he could not take the money with him.
Solomon’s witnesses about this spirit and what it brought him. Ecclesiastes 2:7-11
Had built great houses; had land and slaves.
Had accumulated a lot of silver and gold.
Was greater than anyone else before in Israel.
At the end Solomon understood that all he had achieved was like nothing and like chasing after the wind.
Paul reveals to Timothy what this spirit of greed can do to a believer. 1 Timothy 6:9-10
Fall into temptation and a trap.
Into foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.

Godliness with contentment is great gain.
We bring nothing into this world and we can take nothing out of it.
If we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
Pursue the things of God.
Where Christians need to invest their money and get the right profit. Matthew 6:19-21
In heaven
There are no thieves who can steal.
Moth and rust do not destroy it.
Where your treasure is, there is your heart.
