THE SEED OF SIN AND REBELLION WAS BIRTHED IN SATAN’S HEART, AND IN THE GARDEN, PASSED ON TO HUMANS
THE ORIGIN OF SIN AND THE ARCHANGEL LUCIFER :
Who is Lucifer ?
He was the anointed cherub who covers whom God placed him on his holy mountain and he walked among the fiery stones. [Ezekiel 28:14]
He was perfect in all his ways from the day he was created; he was wise and the splendor of his beauty outshined the rest of God’s angelic creation. He was covered with the most beautiful precious stones. [Ezekiel 28:13, 14, 17]
Sin is birthed in Lucifer’s being :
The prophet Isaiah writes about the schemes of Lucifer’s heart :
For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Isaiah 14:13-14
The prophet Ezekiel wrote about what happened at that moment :
“By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor.” Ezekiel 28:16-17
Results of Lucifer’s sin birthed in his being :
Lucifer begins a rebellion among God’s angelic creation and one third of the angels join Lucifer in his rebellion [Revelation 12:3-4; Isaiah 14:13-14]
The Almighty God expels Lucifer and his rebellious angels from his presence: “And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones.” Ezekiel 28:16
Lucifer is cast down to the ground and his name changes: Satan, the devil, the serpent, the dragon
GOD’S MATERIAL CREATION AND THE HUMAN RACE :
Who were Adam and Eve ?
They were the beginning of God’s human creation : “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness… So God created man in His
own
image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26-27
God created a special place for humans to live
: “The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed… Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” Genesis 2:8, 15
Only one commandment
: “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17
SIN ENTERS THE WORLD :
Rebellion in the Garden of Eden : [Genesis 3:1-7]
Satan/the devil appears in the Garden in the form of a snake talking to Eve [3:1]
The snake tempts Eve to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree, but she respond that they are not permitted to eat from the tree. The snake then twists the reality of the commandment and brings doubt about God’s intention. [3:2-5]
Eve falls for the temptation and she eats of the fruit of the forbidden tree and she offers it to Adam who also eats. At that moment, they both receive in their being the seed of sin and rebellion from Satan. [3:6]
At that moment, they both separate spiritually from God due to the sin that has entered them and the separation from God brings spiritual death, like God warned. But they did not die physically. [3:7]
They both receive the punishment from God for the violation of the commandment and they were both cast out of the garden to live a life of hardship [3:16-19, 24]
God gave the serpent the first prophecy of the Bible: One would come to crushed its head [3:15]
THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE GETS CONTAMINATED WITH ADAM AND EVE’S SIN :
By one man’s sin [Adam’s] death and condemnation came to all [Romans 5:12, 18]
“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners…” Romans 5:19
“For since by man
came
death… For as in Adam all die.” 1 Corinthians 15:21-22
Christ’s work: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24
