THE POWER OF JESUS’ BLOOD - Part 1

  1. WHY JESUS HAD TO SHED HIS BLOOD — SIN COMES INTO THE WORLD :
    • Creation of man and his place in the Garden of Eden — Genesis 2:7-9
    • Only one commandment was given to Adam — Genesis 2:16-17
    • The temptation and the fall of man — Genesis 3:1-7
    • Paul explains what happened that moment in the Garden when sin came into the world — Romans 5:12
    • The human race following after the devil’s way: the flood; Sodom and Gomorrah; Tower of Babel
    • The human race was slave to sin with no way to be set free until Jesus came — John 8:34-36; Rom. 6:6-7

  2. GOD’S PLAN OF REDEEMING THE HUMAN RACE FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN :
    • The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world — Revelation 13:8
    • Praises to the Lamb that was slain to redeem humanity by His blood — Revelation 5:9
    • The prophet Isaiah foretells Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross dying for the people’s sin — Isaiah 53
    • King David prophesied about Jesus’ suffering on the cross — Psalm 22:1-21
    • Jesus telling His disciples how Moses, the prophets, and the Psalms spoke about His work on the cross and how it would free the human race from the bondage of sin — Luke 24:44-47

  3. THE SEED OF ABRAHAM AND THE LAW :
    • God brings Abraham out from the pagan world he lived and promises him a new land — Genesis 12:1-2
    • God promises Abraham that through his SEED [Jesus] all the nations will be blessed — Genesis 22:18
    • God gives Moses the Law and a way for people to atone for sin and receive forgiveness — Leviticus 17:11
    • Blood of animal sacrifices: without the shedding of blood there was not going to be remission: Hebrews 9:22
    • The priest came once a year with animal blood to atone for the people’s sin — Hebrew 9:7; Leviticus 16
    • The blood of the animal sacrifice only atone for the sin, it could not set the person free from sin — Acts 13:38-39
    • The works of the Law and the work of Jesus on the cross — Romans 3:20-26

  4. THE BLOOD OF JESUS AND HIS WORK ON THE CROSS :
    • Christ, the High Priest, came with His own blood to cleanse the conscience from dead works — Hebrews 9:11-14
    • The blood of Jesus washes our sins away

      — Revelation 1:5
    • Justified by His blood and saved from the wrath to come — Romans 5:9
    • Jesus blood cleanses us from all our sins — 1 John 1:7
    • What we were like when we were in sin and what Jesus’ blood has done for us — 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
    • By Jesus’ blood we were reconciled with God and made peace with God through the blood of the cross: Col. 1:20
    • Through Christ’s blood, we who were dead in trespasses and sins, God has made us alive together with Christ and has raised us up together and we are sitting with Christ in the heavenly places — Ephesians 2:1-6
    • No more animals sacrifices — it is all God’s grace — for by grace we have been saved — Ephesians 2:8

  5. CHRIST, ADAM, SIN, AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS :
    • By one man, Adam, sin entered the world and death through sin, then all sinned — Romans 5:12
    • But the grace of God and the free gift of God was made available to all — Romans 5:15
    • By one man, Adam, condemnation came to all men, but by one Man righteous act all can be justified — Rom. 5:18
    • By one man disobedience all were made sinners, by one Man [Jesus] all can be made righteous — Romans 5:19
    • Sin reigned in death by one man’s action, Adam, but grace reigns through righteousness by one Man [Jesus] to eternal life through Jesus Christ. Amen!
