THE POWER OF JESUS’ BLOOD - Part 2
THE POWER OF JESUS’ BLOOD AND SIN :
Sin entered the world
when Adam and Eve rebelled against God and accepted the seed of sin that had birthed in Lucifer/Satan’s heart. Then sin and death passed on to succeeding generations — Romans 5:12
But the Almighty God had already prepared before the foundation of the world a perfect sacrifice, God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus would be the only perfect Lamb that God would use to pay the sin debt that humanity had acquired in the Garden. Revelation 5:9; Revelation 13:8; Hebrew 9:11-12; Daniel 9:24
The Victory of the Cross:
“
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
” Colossians 2:13-15 NKJV
The work of the blood of Jesus against sin:
To Him who loved us and
washed us from our sins in His own blood.
Revelation 1:5 NKJV
Much more then,
having now been justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:9 NKJV
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1:7 NKJV
When we are born again, it is the blood of Jesus that cleanses and washes our sins away, in addition, we are justified by His blood —
THAT IS THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS!
CAN WE USE THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE ?
The answer to this question is NO!
The blood of Jesus is used at the time we are born again to wash our sins so that Jesus can send His Holy Spirit into our hearts giving us eternal life.
But God has given us other instruments to fight in the spiritual warfare.
THE POWER OF THE WORD — IT IS WRITTEN !
In His encounter with the devil in the desert at the time of His temptation, Jesus showed us how to use the Word of God to stop the attacks of the devil. [Luke 4:1-13]
Every time the devil tried to tempt Jesus, the Lord responded: “It is written!”
What the Almighty God has already given us as truth in His Word, we use against the enemy and he has no power against the Word of God!
James said: Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you — James 4:7 NKJV
Peter said: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith. 1 Peter 5:8 NKJV
THE POWER OF THE NAME OF JESUS — IN JESUS’ NAME !
Jesus sent his disciples on their commission to Israel and they returned with great news: “Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “
Lord, even the demons are subject to us in
Your name.
” Luke 10:17
Paul coming against a spirit of divination controlling a girl: But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “
I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.
” And he came out that very hour.
The Name of Jesus as part of the commission: And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature…And these signs will follow those who believe:
In My name they will cast out demons…they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
”
THE POWER OF THE ARMOR FOR THE BATTLE AGAINST SATAN’S ARMY : [Ephesians 6:12-18]
Identifying our enemy:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual
hosts
of wickedness in the heavenly
places.
” Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
Put on the armor for the battle and stand:
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:13 NKJV
Use the shield of faith
to quench the enemy’s fairy darts;
put on
the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness [Christ’s] and then
use the Sword of the Word of God
to engage the enemy stopping the attack.
